Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance

Mansfield Shire Council is a member of the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance (GMCA). The GMCA was established in 2007 to promote and support regional action on climate change.

Members include the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, North East Catchment Management Authority, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and 11 regional Councils.

As a member of the GMCA, Mansfield Shire Council has participated in the following projects:

• Watts Working Better – Street lighting upgrade project
• Electric Vehicle Feasibility Study – Building the case for electric vehicles in Council fleets
• Climate Smart Agriculture Development – Identifying agricultural opportunities under a climate changed future
• Take2 – Assisting Shires in taking a pledge to climate change action.
