This is Tim's first term as an elected councillor.
As a sixth-generation Mansfield local, Tim has a deep passion for the people and places that make up the Mansfield Shire.
After completing all his schooling in Mansfield, Tim moved to Melbourne to undertake tertiary studies at Monash University finishing with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in International Politics, and a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geosciences. After a couple of years in the workforce, Tim went on to complete a Master's Degree in Environmental Governance, Policy and Markets at the University of Melbourne.
Tim has experience working both with and within all levels of government, including being selected as a rural representative on Victorian State Government Youth Advisory Committee, interning with a Federal Member of Parliament, and advising Commonwealth Government departments on agriculture policy as a consultant.
Growing up in Mansfield means Tim has lived through a number of significant extreme weather event, most notably some intense bushfire seasons. This led to pursuing a career in the bushfire management, including during the 2019-20 Black Summer fires.
Tim moved to the Northern Territory to expand his knowledge of fire management working with Traditional Owners around Tennent Creek to undertake burning operations. Following this Tim returned to Victorian to help with an Indigenous fire program in Bendigo, before finally returning to Mansfield with the hopes to bring back what he had learnt and contribute to the resilience of his hometown.
Tim is passionate about keeping Mansfield the interesting and supportive place that provided so many opportunities for him growing up. He wishes to see the town continue to evolve whilst maintaining the identity of the Shire.
The voices of Young people are important in shaping the future they'll be living in. Tim hopes to be an advocate for progressing the decisions that will have impact for years to come.
