Grant Funding Opportunities

Below is a list of current funding opportunities, in order of application closing date. This list is updated at the beginning of each month. We highlight the newest opportunities and share a link to this updated list in our monthly newsletter, which you can subscribe to here.

Current Grants

The Environment Program – EOI close 11 December *NEW*

  • This program supports initiatives designed to conserve or restore the natural landscape and ecosystems in the face of climate change. Successful initiatives should engage strongly with communities, have a strong scientific evidence base, and be nationally significant or highly collaborative. Large grants are available of $100,00+ and across multiple years.

Community Bank Mansfield Scholarship Program – Closes 23 January 2026 *NEW*

  • This program aims to assist academically motivated students from the Mansfield District who have been offered a place at an Australian University or TAFE to study for the first time in 2026 and are facing personal, medical, social and/or financial circumstance that make it difficult to undertake further education. $5,000 is available per year for two years. This year the Community Bank Mansfield has teamed up with the Stinchcombe Foundation, adding an additional $10,000 scholarship focused around supporting practical based learning.

Disability Self Help Grants Program – Closes 27 January 2026 *NEW*

  • The Disability self-help grants program provides grants to disability self-help groups in need of financial assistance to meet running costs. Grants are available up to $7,000 per year for 1 or 2 years. Priority groups for this round include self-help groups in regional and rural Victoria.

The Alice Prize – Closes 30 January 2026 *NEW*

  • The Alice Prize is a national contemporary art prize, welcoming entries from around Australia, in any medium or theme. It is open to all Australian artists - established and emerging - working in painting, performance, textiles, ceramics, photography, digital media, sculpture, sound, installation and more. The winning work will be publicly displayed alongside the Alice Springs Art Foundation collection.

Tiny Towns Fund - Close 4 February 2026 *NEW*

  • The Tiny Towns Fund supports local communities to deliver quality tourism and community facility projects, such as splash parks and bike trails, playgrounds, community hall and library upgrades, public art and more. Incorporated not-for-profit community organisations in regional Victoria towns with populations of up to 5,000 people are eligible to apply for grants between $5,000 and $50,000.

Look Over the Farm Gate – closes 20 April 2026 (earlier if funds exhausted)

  • The National Centre for Farmer Health are providing grants of up to $5,000 to eligible community organisations around Victoria. Funding may be used for events that support mental wellbeing and community togetherness. Some examples given include community BBQs, skill development workshops, and film screenings.

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant – closes 31 May 2026

  • Sports and Recreation Victoria provide grants of up to $2,000 to community sport and active recreation organisations. If your equipment has been damaged or stolen through natural disaster or criminal activity, this Government program will help you replace them. Whilst applications are open until 2026, the program will end early if all funding has been allocated.

Farm Drought Support Grant - closes 30 June 2026 (earlier if funds exhausted)

  • This grant program assists primary production businesses to improve drought resilience. Eligible farmers will receive up to $5,000 as a co-contribution grant that will support activities including water infrastructure upgrades (such as pipes, tanks, troughs and dams), stock containment areas, and grain and fodder storage.

The Victorian Gig Fund – closes July 2026

  • If you run a licensed live music venue or operate a venue that can host live performances in regional Victoria, The Victorian Gig Fund can provide grants of up to $11,000 to go towards artists’ fees. The program has been designed to create more paid opportunities for local artists and give music lovers across the state the chance to see more great local live music.

Hamer Sprout Fund – Closes 30 September 2026 *NEW*

The mission of the Hamer Sprout Fund is “to build communities inspired to take action for a sustainable future”. These grants are provided as an incentive to new or established groups to develop initiatives that promote innovation, facilitate community engagement, and advocate for sustainability. Grants are available up to $5,000, or up to $10,000 in exceptional circumstances.

Ongoing Grants

The grants below are open on an ongoing basis, or until funding is exhausted. We recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

VFA Recreational Fishing Grants Program

  • This program by Avant Group provides not-for-profit community groups, angling clubs and associations with grants to fund projects that will improve public recreational fishing in Victoria. Grants are available for up to $50,000 and projects that are likely to be eligible include infrastructure and access, research, and the installation of instream habitats.

Development on Demand by VicScreen

  • This program supports producers and writers to develop narrative fiction or documentary projects for any release platform. Eligible writers or producers may apply for up to $50,000, which must be repaid from the production budget if and when a project proceeds to production.

Variety Community Grant

  • You can apply for a Variety community grant if your school or organisation is based and operating in Victoria, not a private school or business, and directly serves children under 18 in areas like disability, financial disadvantage, or geographic isolation. Funding is available for a variety of items including: musical instruments, sensory rooms, and technology.
