Grant Funding Opportunities

Below is a list of current funding opportunities, in order of application closing date. This list is updated at the beginning of each month. We highlight the newest opportunities and share a link to this updated list in our monthly newsletter, which you can subscribe to here.

Current Grants

Outlying Communities Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) – closes 13 October

  • Our Outlying Communities Infrastructure Fund aims to support communities to develop or improve facilities that enhance liveability and to improve community resilience and connectivity. Eligible projects should demonstrate an ongoing community benefit and capital improvement to infrastructure or land within outlying communities of Mansfield Shire. Grants of up to $15,000 are available out of a total funding pool of $50,000. 

Multicultural Festivals and Events Program – closes 23 October *NEW*

  • The program funds community organisations to hold cultural festivals and events to ensure Victorians can celebrate, preserve cultures and share traditions. Grants are available in 3 funding steams, up to $50,000.

Ageing Well Grant – closes 24 October *NEW*

  • 3-year grants of up to $250,000 per year to eligible organisations who are seeking to address issues limiting quality of life for older Victorians. Expressions of interest are now open, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application. 

Healthy Equal Youth (HEY) - closes 24 October

  • This small grants program aims to support projects and initiatives that engage LGBTIQA+ young people. Applications from rural and regional areas, and those that are led by or designed for disabled or culturally diverse young people are highly encouraged. The previous round of funding totalled $102,000 across 13 different projects around Victoria. 

Growing Healthy Communities – closes 30 October

  • This program seeks to improve the health and wellbeing of young people (aged 0-25) and their families. Eligible initiatives will create opportunities for people to participate in sport and recreation, or will strengthen local food systems. Up to $50,000 in funding is available.

WorkSafe Community Sponsorship – closes 31 October *NEW*

  • WorkSafe considers applications four times each year from organisations hosting events or activities that support their objectives. WorkSafe sponsorships aim to reduce workplace harm, improve outcomes for injured workers, and inform the community about workplace safety.

Small Regional Presenters – closes 31 October *NEW*

  • Community groups and not-for-profit organisations based in regional Victoria may be eligible for the Small Regional Presenters grant. It provides funding up to $15,000 to program and present shows. This program also supports local skills development and capacity building by encouraging the development of long-term plans and audience development strategies.

Strengthening Rural Communities Small & Vital – closes 4 December *NEW*

  • Small & Vital gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of initiatives that directly benefit local communities. There are two tiers of Small & Vital funding available; small grants up to $10,000 and larger targeted grants up to $50,000 which are available for projects that focus on strengthening the digital skills and online safety.

Strengthening Rural Communities Prepare & Recover – closes 4 December *NEW*

  • Prepare & Recover supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters. Grants up to $25,000 are available for a broad range of initiatives.

Look Over the Farm Gate – closes 20 April 2026 (earlier if funds exhausted)

  • The National Centre for Farmer Health are providing grants of up to $5,000 to eligible community organisations around Victoria. Funding may be used for events that support mental wellbeing and community togetherness. Some examples given include community BBQs, skill development workshops, and film screenings.

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant – closes 31 May 2026

  • Sports and Recreation Victoria provide grants of up to $2,000 to community sport and active recreation organisations. If your equipment has been damaged or stolen through natural disaster or criminal activity, this Government program will help you replace them. Whilst applications are open until 2026, the program will end early if all funding has been allocated.

Farm Drought Support Grant - closes 30 June 2026 (earlier if funds exhausted)

  • This grant program assists primary production businesses to improve drought resilience. Eligible farmers will receive up to $5,000 as a co-contribution grant that will support activities including water infrastructure upgrades (such as pipes, tanks, troughs and dams), stock containment areas, and grain and fodder storage.

The Victorian Gig Fund – closes July 2026

  • If you run a licensed live music venue or operate a venue that can host live performances in regional Victoria, The Victorian Gig Fundcan provide grants of up to $11,000 to go towards artists’ fees. The program has been designed to create more paid opportunities for local artists and give music lovers across the state the chance to see more great local live music.

Ongoing Grants

The grants below are open on an ongoing basis, or until funding is exhausted. We recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

VFA Recreational Fishing Grants Program

  • This program by Avant Group provides not-for-profit community groups, angling clubs and associations with grants to fund projects that will improve public recreational fishing in Victoria. Grants are available for up to $50,000 and projects that are likely to be eligible include infrastructure and access, research, and the installation of instream habitats.

Development on Demand by VicScreen

  • This program supports producers and writers to develop narrative fiction or documentary projects for any release platform. Eligible writers or producers may apply for up to $50,000, which must be repaid from the production budget if and when a project proceeds to production.

Variety Community Grant

  • You can apply for a Variety community grant if your school or organisation is based and operating in Victoria, not a private school or business, and directly serves children under 18 in areas like disability, financial disadvantage, or geographic isolation. Funding is available for a variety of items including: musical instruments, sensory rooms, and technology.
