Young Artists Shine at Successful 2026 Youth Art Exhibition
Mansfield Shire Youth's Amplify Committee has wrapped up its second annual Youth Art Exhibition.
The event, which showcased the creativity and talent of 10 young local artists aged 12–25, was held at the Visitor Information Centre throughout May.
The exhibition attracted hundreds of visitors with community members providing overwhelmingly positive feedback on the diverse range of artwork on display.
Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said the event highlighted the importance of opportunities like these for local young people.
“The artistic community is so important for the contribution they make to our local culture in Mansfield Shire and we are fortunate to have some very talented artists coming through as the next generation,” he said.
“Council is proud of the work the Youth Amplify Committee put into nurturing and showcasing the incredible talent we have in our shire. The Youth Art Exhibition is a great example of a community event that supports families and young people following their passion.”
“Thank you to all the artists for contributing and sharing their work.”
The exhibition featured a variety of artistic mediums including canvas painting, graphite art, wire sculptures, 3D artwork, pyrography, feltwork and more which highlighted the range of talent among local young people.
At the conclusion of the exhibition, two awards were presented to recognise artistic achievement and community engagement.
Amplify Artist of the Year
Winner: Ayshia Beekman
The Amplify Artist of the Year Award was judged by a panel of local artists and recognises excellence in artistic practice.
Ayshia presented an outstanding collection of works across five different art forms, demonstrating both versatility and a strong commitment to her craft. Reflecting on the experience, Ayshia said she enjoyed the opportunity to have a space for multiple young artists to be able to show their artworks.
Framing the Future Award
Winner: Abigail Wettenhall – Connection
The Framing the Future Award, determined by public vote, recognises the community’s favourite artwork from the exhibition. More than 150 votes were cast throughout the exhibition, with every participating artist receiving support from visitors. This is Abigail's second time exhibiting in the Youth Art Exhibition, following her recognition as Amplify Artist of the Year in 2025.
Young artists interested in exhibiting in the future are encouraged to follow Mansfield Shire Youth for updates on the 2027 Youth Art Exhibition.
The Amplify Committee congratulates all participating artists and the 2026 award winners and looks forward to another inspiring exhibition in 2027.
