A new school bus turnaround location on Ancona Road is now open, improving safety and accessibility for children and families.

In addition to the new bus turnaround area, the $24,314 Council-funded facility includes gravel car parking and a shelter relocated from the previous pick-up and drop-off zone on the northern side of Ancona Road.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said the new turnaround will enhance safety for school children and for all users, particularly during pick-up and drop-off times when pedestrian and traffic activity is increased.

“Council prioritises investments like this to improve the wellbeing and safety of our community.

“We have increased the parking space available and provided clear direction for school buses and cars to navigate, making a safer environment for school children to access the bus stop.

“This work has addressed safety concerns raised with Council by residents and we’re really pleased that this facility is ready for the start of school next week. We look forward to seeing the kids in our community enjoying a safer trip to school” he said.
