Help keep our priorities on the right track

Council needs the Mansfield Shire community to help us prioritise the future tracks and trails across Mansfield Shire. This 20-year strategy is a roadmap for building a better-connected region, making it easier for people to get outdoors while supporting the local tourism industry, whether its walking, cycling or horse riding.
Following the first round of feedback, a list of potential projects has been identified. Council is now asking the community to help rank the top projects to decide which ones should be delivered first.
Mayor Cr Steve Rabie says this second round of engagement is a critical step in making sure the strategy gives the community what it wants.
“We received so many great suggestions for future tracks and trails across our shire. We have a list of the most frequently suggested projects but we know we can’t do everything at once," said Cr Rabie.
“Now, we are asking the community to tell us which projects mean the most to them.”
The community is being asked to rank projects in three different areas. These include projects in early-stage feasibility studies, projects that are ready for construction and projects that are led by other groups that need Council support.
Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said the feedback would lead directly to a shortlist of major projects.
“This is your chance to tell us which tracks and trails will make the biggest difference to your daily life or your business,” he said.
Community members can view a map of high-priority projects and provide feedback by completing an online survey at engage.mansfield.vic.gov.au. Consultation closes on 26 February.
This project is jointly funded by Council and the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
