Mansfield’s Visitor Information Centre is now able to print car passes for parking, which are required to pass the Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Entry gate.

Council is working closely with Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management to help ease traffic congestion, inviting the Department of Transport to visit the site and consider possible solutions.

One of the areas identified was that traffic had been slowed by patrons without printed car passes. This had held them up at gate entry where staff had then been printing the passes on their behalf. Other vehicles had been waiting, causing delays for visitors and residents along Mt Buller Road.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said Council was pleased to offer this service as visitors and locals heading to the mountain could get their passes at the Visitor Information Centre in advance of their drive to the resort.

“We want to ensure that the roads are as clear as possible for our communities that live along Mt Buller Road and to facilitate easy access for visitors too,” said Cr Tehan.

“We hope this will go some way to reducing the delays on the road as we continue to work in partnership toward long-term traffic solutions.”

The Visitor Information Centre is located at 175 High St, Mansfield just as you enter town from Melbourne on the left.
