Rehabilitation works on Donaldsons Bridge are set to take place this month, improving safety and extending the life of the structure.

The project includes replacing corroded steel cross-bracing underneath the bridge, and cleaning and repainting the underside to prevent further corrosion.

Mansfield Shire Council has engaged RBR Civil and Hire to complete the $18,500 rehabilitation, which will be funded from Council’s capital works budget.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said works like these are important to keep our bridges in good repair.

“Council has 212 bridges and culverts that require regular ongoing maintenance and renewal to maximise their lifespan.

“The works on Donaldsons Bridge were identified as part of Council’s Bridge Asset Inspection Program and these repairs are necessary to address deterioration of the structure as identified in the bridge inspections,” he said.

Works are scheduled from 6 February until 20 February. The bridge will remain open to the public during this period. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to take care and follow any signs when in the area.
