Delatite Valley Plan goes back out on engagement

Published on 22 May 2026

A revised draft of the Delatite Valley Plan is now available to view, and provide feedback on, on the Engage Mansfield platform.

Council thanks the Delatite Valley community for providing feedback through the first two rounds of engagement, this feedback has been actioned in the latest draft of the plan.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie believes the revised draft reflects Council’s commitment to engage with the community to make sure the final plan represents their wishes for the Delatite Valley.

“We’re pleased with where this draft of the plan has landed, the community has stepped up and engaged, letting Council know exactly what they want for their community,” he said.

“Council would like to extend its thanks to all those who’ve provided feedback up until this point. We’d like to invite you all to view the latest draft and tell us what you think.”

The most significant change included within the third draft of the Delatite Valley Plan is the removal of the proposed rezoning areas in Merrijig.

“From the start of the process, Council has expressed its intention to work with the community to make sure the plan represents their wishes. Through the first two rounds of engagement, the majority of the community voiced opposition to rezoning in Merrijig, we’ve listened to that feedback,” he said.

Community members are invited to attend a community meeting to discuss the latest draft of the plan. It is scheduled to be held at the Hunt Club Hotel Wednesday 10 June. Council staff will be on site to discuss the plan from 4pm while a formal discussion and Q&A will be held from 5pm.
