Paul Sladdin, current Councillor and former Mayor of Mansfield Shire Council, was recently presented with a Councillor Service Award for 10 years’ of continuous service at the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) Gala Dinner and Councillor Service Awards held in Melbourne.

The Victorian Councillor Service Awards were established by the MAV, Victoria’s peak body for local government, to recognise the contribution of long serving Councillors across the State.

When congratulating Cr. Sladdin, Mayor Cr James Tehan said that this is an incredible achievement that reflects the level of dedication and commitment Cr. Sladdin has for his community.

“The fundamental role of a Councillor is to represent and serve their community. It’s not an easy job. Councillors must contribute to the community by serving the overall public interest in every decision they make,” said Cr Tehan.

“Cr. Sladdin’s long term knowledge and understanding of his role is a real asset to Council and I congratulate him on his outstanding contribution and dedication to the Mansfield Shire community.

Cr. Sladdin said “It has been an honour to continuously serve my community as a Councillor for the past decade.

“The positive changes I have seen over the 10 years as a Councillor has been humbling to watch and I’m honoured to have been a driver in that change.”
