The Merton Plan, a forward-thinking roadmap that outlines the future community vision for the town of Merton, was adopted by Mansfield Shire Council at the meeting on Tuesday 16 May 2023.

This comprehensive plan incorporates the community's ideas and sets the stage for the town's growth, including the development of new footpaths and exciting activities at Merton Recreation Reserve.

The Merton Plan reflects Council's commitment to proactive urban planning and community involvement and influence. By considering the feedback received from residents, stakeholders, and community groups, the final plan captures the collective aspirations of the Merton community.

Mansfield Shire Council would like to thank all individuals, community groups, and stakeholders who contributed to the planning process. The valuable input and ideas shared by the community have played a significant role in shaping the Merton Plan, ensuring it reflects the needs and desires of the town's residents.

Mayor Cr James Tehan conveyed Council’s appreciation.

"We are incredibly thankful for the strong community engagement throughout this process,” he said.

“The Merton Plan represents a shared vision for the town's future, and its adoption marks an important milestone in our journey towards a thriving and inclusive Merton.”

“We are excited to work hand in hand with the community to turn these aspirations into tangible results that will benefit current and future generations."
