The Bonnie Doon Plan was adopted by Mansfield Shire Council at the most recent Council meeting.

The Plan is the result of months of research, planning, and community engagement, and is designed to guide the town’s growth and development for the next two decades. It outlines a comprehensive, long-term strategy of the town’s priorities and goals for economic growth, sustainable tourism, environmental sustainability, and community development.

The plan aims to create a liveable, sustainable, and resilient town that is equipped to meet the challenges of the future, and has identified a variety of possible initiatives and projects, such as:

  • Investments in new bike paths, pedestrian crossings, and green spaces, aimed at improving safety and promoting active lifestyles.
  • The release of new residential and commercial land to support the growth of the area.
  • The preservation of natural resources and the promotion of sustainable development practices, including the protection of green spaces.

“The Bonnie Doon Plan is a critical step towards creating a sustainable and vibrant community that can thrive in the years to come,” said Mayor Cr James Tehan.

“We are excited to move forward with this plan and to continue working closely with our residents and community partners to create a liveable and sustainable town and maintain the serenity of Bonnie Doon.”

The adoption of the Bonnie Doon Plan is a significant milestone for the town, and Mansfield Shire Council looks forward to working with residents, businesses, and community partners to turn this vision into a reality.
