Mansfield Shire Council is inviting the community to help spread the festive spirit by contributing to this year’s Christmas decorations.

Residents, businesses and community groups are encouraged to donate a Christmas ornament that can be hung from the festoon lights along the High Street median strip. Each ornament will add a personal and colourful touch to the town’s festive display, symbolising the community’s shared celebration of Christmas.

All donated ornaments can be dropped off at the Council front desk by Monday 1 December.

In addition, the Council is pleased to be working with the Mansfield Men’s Shed on a special Christmas project, which will bring something unique and handmade to this year’s decorations.

Council also welcomes ideas from the community for other ways to decorate and celebrate around town, creativity and community spirit are encouraged!

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie wants to see the festive period fill Mansfield Shire with community spirit.

“Christmas is a time for connection, creativity, and community pride,” he said.

“If each of us adds a little something of our own, we can create a display that truly reflects the heart of Mansfield. I encourage everyone to get involved — whether that’s by donating an ornament, sharing an idea, or simply taking a stroll down High Street to enjoy the decorations.”

“Let’s come together to make this Christmas bright, joyful and uniquely ours.”
