A bicycle repair station complete with tools and a pump have been installed as the latest addition to the Great Victorian Rail Trail, in the Mansfield Station Precinct.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said the new equipment was already receiving plenty of use.

“This is one of the many projects that the community told us they wanted when we received funding to increase outdoor activity. It’s an example of the benefits of collaborating with our community. The site was selected in partnership with the Mansfield Station Precinct stakeholder group and the Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail,” said Cr Tehan.

“When riders begin or end their journeys on the rail trail at Mansfield, they need access to these kinds of facilities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride. We’re pleased to have been able to facilitate this work.”

The repair station and pump were installed at a cost of $8727 which was funded by the Victorian Government’s COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Fund.
