Mansfield Shire Council has adopted its 10-year Asset Plan 2021-2031 at its Ordinary Council Meeting held Tuesday 28 June 2022.

The Asset Plan provides a long-term view on how Council manages more than $200 million in assets, including local roads, footpaths and shared paths, bridges and culverts, stormwater pipes and pits, buildings and structures and other open space assets, such as playgrounds, sportsgrounds, and outdoor furniture.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said the Plan was released after a period of community consultation and that there would be further community discussions about how Council manages assets.

“We’re responsible for managing millions of dollars’ worth of assets to ensure they meet the needs of our growing community and changing expectations,” said Cr Tehan.

Under Section 92 of the new Local Government Act 2020, councils must develop, adopt and

keep in force an Asset Plan with at least a 10-year financial horizon.

The Plan operates within the parameters set by Council’s Financial Plan 2021-2031 and supports the Council Plan 2021-2025 and Community Vision 2040.
