Help Council Understand the Needs of Our Young People

Published on 22 October 2021

Council is asking the community how it can best support and value young people who live, work, play or study in Mansfield Shire through a short survey for young people and those who support them.

Mayor Holcombe encouraged the community to fill in the survey.

“We want to hear what role Council should take in supporting young people and what kinds of services our community feels would best serve young people,” said Cr Holcombe.

“Young people are important for the future of all communities, but especially in regional areas such as Mansfield Shire. The better Council understands the needs of our young people, the better we are able to provide services and programs that meet those needs into the future.

Council’s youth services program is aimed at people aged 12-25 years. Council currently delivers a range of programs and services, including:

  • Mansfield Youth Drop-In Centre
  • FReeZA music, art and cultural events and activities
  • Engage! support and development programs
  • TAC L2P and Mentor programs that match volunteers and learner drivers to gain driving experience

To give your input about how well Council’s current programs meet our young people’s needs, you are asked to complete a short anonymous survey. The survey is at engage.mansfield.vic.gov.au and will be open until 5pm on Friday 5 November 2021.
