Proposed Speed Reduction for Mt Battery Road & Greenvale Lane
Mansfield Shire Council is seeking community feedback on a proposal to reduce the speed limit from 80 km/h to 70 km/h on sections of Mt Battery Road and Greenvale Lane.
The proposed speed reduction aims to improve safety for all road users and has been informed by several factors, including reports of near misses in the area, a recent crash, and the proximity of a childcare centre. Speed data collected from the area also shows that most motorists are already travelling at around 70 km/h, meaning the proposed change is not expected to significantly impact travel times.
Council will consider community feedback and, if there is community support, will apply for the proposed changes. Any final decision on these changes will be made by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).
Consultation closes Wednesday 25 November 2026.
