Public Liability Insurance  

In hiring a Council-managed venue, eligible applicants will need to supply their own Public Liability Insurance or apply for Public Liability Insurance provided by Council.

To apply for the public liability insurance the hirer

  • Must have completed and signed the Council Hire Agreement.                   
  • Must not already have public liability insurance

The Hire event

  • Must be not-for-profit 
  • Must not involve more than 1,000 people

The hire term

  • Must not be longer than five consecutive days

Hirers will not be eligible to apply for the insurance if 

  • They are wanting to use the facility more then once a week
  • They are organising a ticketed event where an admission fee will be charged (excluding gold coin donations)
  • They will derive a monetary gain from the hire activity or commercial hirers (e.g. An Art Show).
  • They are using the facility for a festival, concert or sporting event
