Unlocking local industry to create significant job growth
The Lakins Road Industrial Precinct is an opportunity to position local industry for growth while reflecting local strengths and community priorities, shaping a more resilient and prosperous local economy.
This project allows Council to take a leadership role in shaping the precinct's growth, delivering lasting community benefit, reinvesting value back into the Shire, and supporting long-term economic strength.
The project reduces land constraints for local industry, responds to measured demand, supports emergency services, and positions Mansfield to attract investment, diversify employment, and sustain growth across priority industrial
sectors for decades to come.
This infrastructure will unlock development-ready industrial land by delivering 46 fully serviced lots that meet authority requirements and investor
expectations.
- Increasing the supply of serviced industrial land in Regional Victoria
- Giving businesses the opportunity to invest in serviced land, creating jobs and economic activity
- Supporting up to 1,600 ongoing jobs across manufacturing, logistics, circular economy, trades, warehousing and government services
- Enabling shared trunk infrastructure to support coordinated development across Lakins Road and the adjoining Woodlands Industrial Estate
An application has been made to the Trunk Infrastructure Fund.
Funding Requirements
We require $2m in funding to go with $6.35m from the developer and $800,000 investment from Council to support long term employment growth and industrial diversification in Mansfield Shire.
