A Safe Mansfield Shire Road Network

The Situation
Mansfield township has been experiencing population growth for an extended period of time prior to 2026. Outside investment in infrastructure hasn’t always kept up with the growth. With tourism numbers also rising steadily, there are more cars on Mansfield Shire roads.
Given the state government has now also mandated a target of 3,900 new homes in Mansfield Shire by 2051 to meet this ongoing population growth, we require strategic investment in our road network. We need roundabouts to safely and efficiently manage traffic at ever busier intersections Council has had some success advocating to state and federal governments for funding to date, but the construction of further roundabouts is necessary.
The Solution
We have identified several strategic locations in which new Roundabouts will improve traffic movement and road safety within Mansfield’s growing township:
- Dead Horse Lane and Midland Highway - applied for through Blackspot Program
- Mt Buller Rd and Greenvale Lane
Mt Buller Rd and Highton Lane
