If you know someone who has gone above and beyond this year, it’s time to consider nominating them for the 2027 Mansfield Shire Citizen Awards. Nominations will be accepted until Monday 16 November 2026 in the following categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen (aged 14-27)
  • Senior Citizen (aged 65 and over)
  • Community Event of the Year and Community Group
  • Organisation of the Year.

Each year, the nomination process highlights the admirable work done by so many local citizens which often goes unrecognised.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said that now is the time to acknowledge the quiet achievers and community champions among us.

“These awards are a chance for us to publicly thank and celebrate the people and groups who make Mansfield Shire such a great place to live,” he said.

“Nominating someone is easy, just explain why you think your nominee should be recognised. They might be role models and have excelled in what they do or maybe they are quiet achievers making a real difference to our community.”

“We know there are many unsung heroes and this is a great opportunity to shine a light on their contributions.”

Nominations can be made until 5pm Monday 18 November 2026 and previously unsuccessful nominations will be considered.

Award recipients will be announced at Mansfield Shire Council’s Australia Day event in the Mansfield Botanic Park on Tuesday 26 January 2027.

Nomination forms can be collected from the Mansfield Library, Collopy Street or Council’s Municipal Office, 33 Highett Street, Mansfield.

They can also be downloaded and submitted online via Council’s website at www.mansfield.vic.gov.au/council/australia-day-awards-citizenship-ceremonies
