A New Leash on Life: Works Begin on Mansfield Dog Park

The dogs of Mansfield Shire will soon have a place to call their own with works underway on a purpose-built dog park at the Mansfield Station Precinct.  

“This grant funded project will create a safe and accessible space to let dogs run, play and enjoy each other's company," he said. 

“Pets play a big role in the lives of our community members. I'm pleased that this community space will be a place for people to get active with their best friends. 

“I’m looking forward to taking my own dogs to experience the new dog park.” 

The new facility will include secure fencing, separate areas for small and large dogs, play and agility equipment, accessible pathways and entry points, seating and shaded areas, water stations and solar lighting bollards to improve accessibility and safety. 

The construction of Mansfield's first purpose-built off-leash dog park is being handled by A & R Landscaping, who were awarded the $381,250 contract after a competitive tender. 

This project has been made possible through funding from the Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (RPPP) as part of the broader Station Precinct project and support from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, which has contributed $175,000 towards the dog park's delivery.  

Council looks forward to delivering this community asset and will continue to provide updates as works progress.
