We are aware that concerns around fuel are at the forefront of the community's mind during the ongoing uncertainty around supply and prices.

We would like to assure our community, and visitors to our shire, that we are closely monitoring the situation and discussions regarding prospective Council initiatives that help ease pressure at local pumps are underway.

While some questions remain about future fuel supply, there is currently no suggestion that Mansfield Shire will run out of fuel or be unable to access essential provisions. Should the situation worsen, Mansfield Shire Council will work with government at all levels to ensure our community is not left without essential provisions.

In response to the uncertainty, we have relaxed our working from home policy and encouraged Council staff who are able to carry out their duties from home to do so. We are also encouraging staff who are able to carpool to work to do so. These small steps have been taken in an effort to do our part to ease supply and pricing issues locally.

We are monitoring updates from the Industry Forum on Fuel Supply and the State Crisis Resilience Council and remain in constant dialogue with the Municipal Association of Victoria about the status of fuel supply in the state.

In the meantime, we continue to welcome visitors to our shire. We encourage those who have access to an electric vehicle to use it to make their way to Mansfield Shire. We are fortunate to have seen an increased supply of EV charging capability in the region recently and every petrol and diesel car left at home represents an easing of pressure at Mansfield Shire pumps.
