Mansfield Library’s Bookmark Competition returns for its 5th year

More than $1,000 in book vouchers is up for grabs in this year's Children’s Book Week Bookmark Competition at Mansfield Library.
Children and young people aged 4 to 17 are encouraged to get creative and enter their design.
Mayor Cr Rabie is pleased to see an opportunity for young people to explore art and literature.
"Mansfield Shire is filled with talented artists and Council wants to protect that by providing pathways into art for our young residents,” he said.
“The Library’s annual Bookmark Competition is a great opportunity for budding artists to get creative and see their artwork distributed across the whole community.”
“The competition continues to reflect our shire’s passion for both art and literature, it has grown every year with more than 200 children submitting entries in 2024 and 2025.”
The Bookmark Competition is based on this year’s Children’s Book Week theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’ and will be displayed at the Library during October and November. Five prize winners will be selected across three age groups:
- 4 – 8 years
- 9 – 12 years
- 13 – 17 years
Over 30 prizes have been generously contributed by FOML (Friends of Mansfield Library). FOML will also print enough copies of the winning bookmarks to have them available for collection for free from the Library for 12 months.
First, second and third place winners will receive Ink Bookshop vouchers worth $100, $50 and $25 respectively. Also, three highly commended designs by students from each participating schools will win a $25 book voucher.
The Competition opens Monday 10 August and closes Saturday 5 September. Competition winners will be notified by phone on Friday 9 October and the winning designs will be posted on the Library’s Facebook page on Saturday 10 October.
Entry forms for individuals are available from Mansfield Library. Class teachers from all schools across Mansfield Shire have also been invited to register.
