Mansfield Shire Council is proud to support Men’s Health Week 2026 and encourages the men of Mansfield Shire to take a look at their health and wellbeing.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie spoke on the importance of men making their health an ongoing priority.

“Statistics show that men are less likely to visit a GP, seek help for mental health concerns or address symptoms before they become serious,” he said.

“I encourage all residents to use Men’s Health Week as a timely reminder to take simple but important steps toward better health - whether that’s finally booking that overdue GP appointment or checking in with the men in your life, starting an open conversation about health can make a real difference. Good health doesn't happen by accident.”

Observed nationally from Monday 15 June to Sunday 21 June, Men’s Health Week serves as an important reminder that many of the most significant health conditions affecting men are preventable - and that early intervention saves lives.

Men’s Health Week aims to:

  • Increase awareness of preventable health problems for males of all ages
  • Support men and boys to engage in healthier lifestyle choices and activities
  • Encourage the early detection and treatment of health risks in men
