Mansfield Shire tennis players are set to benefit from a new roof at the Mansfield Tennis Association Clubrooms.

The works, delivered as part of Councils’ 2025/26 Open Spaces and Streetscapes Capital Works Program, addresses issues that will help protect the facility from weather-related damage, ensuring the clubrooms remain a valuable community asset for years to come.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said Council was committed to maintaining and improving community infrastructure that supports local clubs, volunteers and residents, in turn protecting pathways into sport and fitness.

"Mansfield's a sporting shire and our clubs play an important role in our community. When a community group comes to us and tells us of a pressing need for improvement in infrastructure, we happy to listen and to act on their behalf," he said.

"Giving athletes spaces that are safe and accessible to play the sport they love is an ongoing priority at Council. These works are an excellent outcome for the community. The result shows how community feedback can help inform Council's capital works priorities and deliver tangible benefits for local groups."

Council was pleased to work with the Mansfield Tennis Association to deliver the upgrade after the need for the roof replacement was raised through Council’s community engagement process.

Mansfield Tennis Association (MTA) President Robert Williams welcomed the completion of the works and acknowledged Council’s support.

"This is an outstanding example of Council's support for community and sporting organisations," Mr Williams said.

"We had a significant issue with water leakage and the potential for infrastructure damage. The new roof will now protect the building for decades. MTA wishes to acknowledge Council's decision to allocate the funds needed and team's professional delivery of the replacement."

The completed roof replacement will help ensure the Mansfield Tennis Association can continue providing quality facilities for members, participants and visitors well into the future.
