From January 2020, Swimming Lessons will be available at the Mansfield Swimming Pool.

Classes on offer will include pre-school programs, after-school programs, adult programs and the popular LAPRZ Program, which is designed for children transitioning from Learn-to Swim lesson to squad.

Mayor, Cr. Marg Attley said, “Whether it’s at the lake, our rivers, or the Mansfield Swimming pool, enjoying the water is part of Mansfield life”.

“Our community loves swimming and it’s so important that everyone, young and old, learn sufficient water safety skills to keep them safe,” said Cr Attley.

The Learn to Swim Program will be coordinated by Jas Reid with the support of swim teachers recently employed by Council.  Programs will run for 6 weeks commencing on Monday 27 January and be based on Life Saving Victoria’s Swim and Survive Framework.  Depending on the age and level of the swimmer, classes will include all the essentials of water safety, water familiarisation, personal water safety, survival knowledge and steps towards stroke development.

Expressions of interest can be made directly at the Mansfield Swimming Pool, emailed to learntoswim@mansfield.vic.gov.au or by calling the pool of 5775 8602.

The Mansfield Swimming Pool is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7am to accommodate lap swimmers. On other days, it opens at 10am and closes at 6pm every day, unless opening hours are extended due to extreme heat.
