As of Wednesday, 12 August, Mansfield Shire Council’s Resource Recovery Centre will only be open to trade and commercial operators, or for residents who do not have a kerb side collection.

Mansfield Mayor, Cr Marg Attley OAM said in-line with Stage 3 restrictions, there are only four reasons that you can leave your home and dropping off waste or recyclable materials is not one of them.

“As we have a domestic waste collection service, in most cases the disposal of material at the Resource Recovery Centre would not be a valid reason to leave your home,” Cr Attley said.

“It’s important that Council is adhering to the restrictions. However, we know the building trades and other commercial operations are continuing and may need to use the Centre, hence it is remaining open for them.

“We ask anyone requiring access to the Resource Recovery Centre to call in advance.

“When disposing of material at the Mansfield Resource Recovery Centre, you will be required to provide evidence that you are a commercial operator or from a property that does not have a kerb side collection. You will also have to demonstrate your place of residence and where the materials have come from.”

The Mansfield Resource Recovery Centre can be contacted on 5775 8580 during its regular operating hours of:

  • 9am to 5pm Monday, Saturday and Sunday
  • 12 noon to 5pm Wednesday and Friday.
