Buttercup Road will undergo works to improve the quality and safety of the road during May 2022.
Mansfield Shire Council General Manager Infrastructure and Planning Kirsten Alexander said that recent wet weather had further deteriorated poor conditions on Buttercup Road.
“We know this road is causing concern for residents and works have been planned and scheduled to address the road condition. We’re pleased to be able to take action on this road to ensure conditions can quickly be made safer for residents,” said Ms Alexander.
“Buttercup Road will be widened to 5 metres in areas to allow safe vehicle passage where currently restricted by the position of existing drains. Culverts will also be extended and cleaned to ensure water does not further deteriorate the quality of the road.”
Mayor Cr James Tehan said Buttercup Road users would soon see significant improvements.
“We’re listening – we know that some of our roads need more work and the community clearly needs improvements on Buttercup Road,” said Cr Tehan.
“We have a number of important road upgrade projects being achieved by Council as we invest in making significant improvements to our road network. Maintaining safe, productive roads is a key priority for this Council and we’re pleased to be able to take prompt action on areas that need it most.”
The resheeting of Buttercup Road takes place as part of Council’s annual resheeting program and will be completed by Alpine Civil.
