So, what's the reasoning behind our proposed rate cap variation for the 2019-20 financial year?  Our Councillors have produced a short video to explain why we are proposing to apply to the Essential Services Commission for a rate variation to the 2018-19 budget.

Accompanying the video is a wealth of information relating to the rates and waste charge distribution to help you understand what a rate variation is, why we need to apply for one, who will be impacted if it is approved, and how you can be involved.

We cannot stress enough that Council is NOT seeking more money from the community.  What may change is the distribution of the rate charges amongst ratepayers.

If you would prefer to speak to our Councillors about the proposed rate cap variation, you're welcome to attend a drop-in session (no appointment required) at the following locations:

  • Family and Childrens Centre - Wednesday, 5 December from 10.00am to 12.00pm
  • Mansfield Library - Friday, 7 December from 1.00pm to 3.00pm
  • Mansfield Youth Centre - Monday, 10 December from 10.00am to 12.00pm
  • Mansfield Library - Thursday, 13 December from 2.00pm to 4.00pm
