If you love the picturesque parks and gardens in and around Mansfield, now’s your opportunity to be involved in how they are presented and maintained for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
Mark Osborne, Council’s Works Co-ordinator said the Parks and Gardens Supervisor role is currently being advertised.
“It’s the dream job for someone who loves the natural environment. They will be working with a team of five gardeners to look after sportsgrounds, garden beds, roundabouts and major parks in some of the most awesome countryside around and can really influence the first impressions of people entering the shire,” Mr Osborne said.
“Our residents really value how well we look after outdoor spaces; the appearance of public areas was rated most highly in the recent Community Satisfaction survey results,” he said.
Mr Osborne said the job is suited to a person who likes the mix of managing a small team, variety in a job including desk-based tasks such as preparing works schedules and hands-on aspects like repairing irrigation equipment and being outdoors.
“We’re seeking someone who has a real love for parks and gardens with a minimum qualification of a Certificate III in horticulture.”
