Highett St median strip carpark (opp the Mansfield Hotel) will host Targa scrutineering Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November.
Scrutineering for this event has occurred in Erril St for the past 2 years. However, the Erril St location is causing some angst, as there is not enough room to unload and scrutineer the competition vehicles.
Mayor, Cr Harry Westendorp said, “The town’s hospitality and retail businesses have experienced a direct economic benefit by having scrutineering in Mansfield and so a new location had to be found so that benefit continues.”
“As we are expecting over 210 entries this year the bigger location of Highett St provided the ideal solution. It also means that competitors and crew can access town easily and it’s in a more prominent position for the public to view the process,” said Cr Westendorp.
Scrutineering will occur Wednesday through until Thursday at 1.30pm. The carpark will be closed to the public during this period and we apologise for any inconvenience during this period.
