The Mansfield Swimming Pool plays a key role in Summer health and fun

Friday, 22 November, 2019 - 13:00

With a very hot summer forecast, the Mansfield Swimming Pool adds a significant element to its role of supporting our residents’ and visitors’ health and wellbeing.

Mayor, Cr Marg Attley, said in addition to offering lap swimming, fun with the long runner inflatable, VicSwim swimming lessons and a venue for socialising, the pool is an important source of relief on very hot days.

“When heat health alerts are declared, the pool will stay open later.  People can find out about extended hours by checking the Pool's Facebook page "” she said.

The Pool is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.00am for lap-swimming. On other days it opens at 10.00am and closes at 6.00pm every day, unless opening hours are extended.

“This year all six lanes will be in place for morning lap swimming. The VicSwim holiday program of swimming lessons will also be offered in January,” said Cr Attley.

Last year Council purchased a ‘long runner’ inflatable and will be announcing plans for events when it will be a feature.

Cr Attley said it is also the first year that people can buy their season passes online.
