Friday, 11 October, 2019 - 13:15

Our fantastic Library will be celebrating the upcoming Children's Week with the magic of Dr Seuss.

Seuss-a-palooza is happening on Thursday, 24 October 2019 between 3.45pm and 5.30pm, where the kids can enjoy a heap of activities celebrating everything Suess-y!

Some of the activities will include:

  • Dr Seuss photo booth
  • A preview of the Mansfield Musical and Dramatic Society’s upcoming production "Seussical the Musical".
  • Decorate your own 'Lorax' pot and plant your own 'Truffula' seed
  • 'One fish, two fish, red fish, YOU fish' fishing game
  • 'Ten apples up on top' balancing game of skill
  • Create your own 'wocket in my pocket'
  • Make your own Dr Seuss badge to wear and more!

Mansfield Shire Council Mayor, Cr Harry Westendorp, explained, “Children’s Week is a national celebration of children’s rights, talents and citizenship. It is also a time for children to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities.

“There is clear evidence from Australia and around the world that the early years of a child’s life have a profound and lasting impact on their future health, development, learning and wellbeing and as a result the wellbeing of their communities and the nation.

“Mansfield Shire Council is proud to support Children’s Week and celebrate with our community the right of children to enjoy their childhood”, he said.

This event is funded via a Children’s Week Grant from the Department of Education and Training.
