Local Youth Leadership Program - you can L.E.A.D. the way!

Friday, 8 March, 2019 - 09:00

Mansfield Shire Council’s Youth Team has been funded by the State Government's Engage! Funding to develop a Youth Leadership  and Social Enterprise Program.

We are currently recruiting  young people aged 18 – 25 for an 8 day leadership program that will run in three blocks over March and April 2019.

The Mansfield L.E.A.D program aims to empower, connect and further develop the leadership skills of individual young people through skills sessions focusing on; decision making, leading others, conflict resolution, effective communication, finding your purpose and building robust working relationships. Other benefits of the program will be; one on one mentoring, completing a community project and inspirational guest speakers.

The intention of the Mansfield L.E.A.D program (Leadership, Experience, Accelerate, Development) is to engage Mansfield’s young adults in an authentic, hands-on leadership experience. Through developing a deeper understanding of personal values, leadership archetypes and effective communication, participants will grow in confidence and will be more resilient in relationships, study and professionally.

The Program

  • 4 Day Retreat | 8 - 11 March 2019 An intensive leadership immersion ‘retreat’. This will run in conjunction with Picnic in the Park.
  • 3 Day Melbourne Experience | 10 – 12 April 2019 A Melbourne immersion to experience inspirational guest speakers and visit various organisations, including youth run social enterprises
  • 1 Day Conclusion Camp | Friday 26 April 2019 Final debrief and where to next.

To be able to offer a leadership program of this calibre and locally is pretty special and a great opportunity.
