Communities in outlying areas have the chance to receive a welcome boost with the endorsement of the guidelines for Council’s new $100,000 grant program from Council.
The 2020/2021 Outlying Communities Infrastructure Fund will open in February and aims to support outlying communities within the Shire to develop or improve community facilities.
“We understand our smaller communities often miss out when it comes to infrastructure renewal, and many of their community facilities are ageing or in need of an upgrade,” said Mayor Cr Mark Holcombe.
“Council’s Outlying Communities Infrastructure Fund gives community groups and organisations in outlying communities the opportunity to identify what projects are important to them and to access some much needed support from Council to make this happen”, he said.
Grants of up to $20,000 are available for projects to deliver capital improvement to buildings, facilities and publically accessible land outside of the Mansfield Township.
Further information about the Outlying Communities Infrastructure Fund, including eligibility and how to apply, can be found on our website or by contacting Coordinator Community Development, Keira McDonagh, on 5775 8555 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
