Mansfield Shire Council has launched three streams of grants funded from bushfire recovery to host community events.
The first stream is seeking applications from community groups/organisations to hold community get-together events with grants of up to $1,000. The second stream seeks to support new and existing community events with grants between $1,000 and $25,000. The third stream will provide seed funding for a new and significant event that will be required to run for three years with funding of $100,000.
Mansfield Shire Mayor Mark Holcombe said the funding will provide for a range of events across the community. “The funding will enable Council to support events that bring the community together, and will hopefully return some joy after a tough year.”
“We are pleased to be offering the opportunity for the community to access these grants and look forward to the enjoyment these collective events will bring. These events will attract visitors back to the Shire and boost the local economy.”
Applications are open to community groups and organisations from 16 December 2020 to 1 February 2021, and will be assessed by the Mansfield Shire Council in conjunction with the Mansfield Shire Business and Community Recovery Advisory Committee.
