Nine key essential services and businesses have written a joint letter to the Mansfield community, seeking support for adherence to the main message of the COVID-19 restrictions - #StayAtHome
Mansfield Mayor, Cr Marg Attley OAM, said the signatories are all working together to support the community and all have staff on the front-line, dealing with the crisis.
“All of the signatories have still been observing some people doing the wrong thing. Not only does this increase the risk of infection throughout the community, it puts their staff and ours at risk,” Cr Attley said. “It also further stretches our resources that are already stretched during this challenging time. An example is the demand for groceries and the number of people in the supermarkets,” she said.
Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management Board, Mansfield District Hospital, Mansfield Medical Clinic, Central General Practice Mansfield, Cathy Henry Mansfield Pharmacy, Eisners Guardian Pharmacy, Marks IGA and FoodWorks Mansfield & Benalla Grocer have all signed the letter.
“We’ve come together to write this letter to the community. Most people are doing the right thing and all the signatories are very appreciative of that. But, any amount of non-adherence to the ‘stay at home’ message creates extra risk for all of us,” Cr Attley said.
“In addition, Council is advocating to the State for clearer messaging about the rules for visitors to the area and people travelling to their holiday homes,” Cr Attley said.
