Mansfield Shire Council has temporarily closed its DrumMuster service at the Resource Recovery Centre until further notice.
Mayor, Cr Marg Attley OAM said the decision was made to comply with social distancing guidelines.
“We understand that the ability to get rid of drums is important and that this is a widely used service by farmers and others in the community. However, we trust users of the service understand that at this time, this is a non-essential service and temporarily closing it will reduce contact in the community,” Cr Attley said.
DrumMuster provides an easy, environmentally friendly way of disposing of empty farming chemical containers.
“We encourage people to hold onto their drums and bring them in as soon as the service recommences,” she said.
The Resource Recovery Centre remains open.
