At its meeting held on Tuesday, 15 October 2019, Council unanimously voted to appoint highly experienced local government professional, Kaylene Conrick, as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mayor, Cr Harry Westendorp said Ms Conrick was chosen after an extensive and extremely competitive selection process from a strong field of candidates.
“The recruitment process attracted 47 applicants from around Australia. The Council was impressed by the high calibre of applicants, and Ms Conrick stood out as an excellent fit for our organisation and the best person to lead our organisation going forward,” Cr Westendorp said
“Kaylene not only ticked all the boxes in terms of experience and local government knowledge but she was super impressive in outlining her vision for our municipality’s future.
"Her record of organisational performance and the desire to work with Council to achieve community goals and aspirations in a financially sustainable and balanced approach are among Kaylene’s strengths,” Cr Westendorp said.
“She brings a wealth of experience to the position, having carved out a distinguished 27 year career in local government including Council CEO roles in Victoria and the Northern Territory.”
Ms Conrick was Council’s Interim CEO for nine weeks from the end of July this year. She is currently travelling overseas and will commence CEO duties upon her return, on 27 February 2020.
Council’s current interim Chief Executive Office, Peter Reeve, will remain in this role until Ms Conrick’s commencement.
