Then on Tuesday 26 January Australia Day there we be a free music festival in the Mansfield Botanic Park. Entertainment in the beautiful park setting will include an exciting music line-up, local food and beverage trucks, a chill zone, an inflatable maze, jumping castle, wipe out challenge and more.

A free breakfast will be offered from 8:30am followed by the Citizenship Ceremony and announcement of the 2021 Mansfield Shire Australia Day Award winners. The music festival will then commence at 11am and run through to 4pm.

Mayor Mark Holcombe said this year Australia Day is about Australians coming together to reflect, respect and celebrate.

“Events are an essential part of community recovery,” he said “This day will be all about bringing people together, reconnecting, sharing stories and building resilience after a very difficult period.”

The event is funded by the Victorian Government’s Community Recovery and Resilience Grant and the National Australia Day Council Australia Day Fund.

“We are very grateful for the funding which has enabled us to put this event on, and offer something new and fun for the community. Due to travel restrictions, a lot of people will be staying locally this Australia Day weekend, so we’re thrilled to be able to offer entertainment of this scale at our very own Botanic Park.” said Mayor Holcombe.

“It is important we all remember to stay vigilant and adhere to government guidelines, especially when it comes to hygiene and social distancing”, continues Mayor Holcombe. “All patrons will need to register their attendance via a QR code on the day and we encourage everyone to bring their own picnic blanket or chair.”
