Community contribution sought for Lake Eildon Masterplan development

Activating Lake Eildon, a joint project between the Mansfield and Murrindindi Shires, Goulburn-Murray Water, Regional Development Victoria and Tourism North East, has progressed to masterplan development phase.
The objective of the masterplan is to identify priority projects to improve the economic performance of Lake Eildon and surrounds as a key tourism and recreation resource, thereby yielding greater economic and community benefit to local towns, businesses, and the region.
Mansfield Shire Council deputy Mayor, Cr Paul Sladdin said the tourism and recreation masterplan for Lake Eildon will enable a strategic and collaborative approach to growing and leveraging this asset.
“Collaboration is key to getting these sorts of projects off the ground and now we encourage the community to provide their input through the consultation sessions in October. From experience, we know people in our communities have valuable ideas for this type of masterplanning,” Cr Sladdin said.
Following a tender and evaluation process the Project Steering Group (PSG) appointed Urban Enterprise as the service provider. Urban Enterprise has extensive experience in tourism and economic development experience in the region and will be supported by leading ‘blue-sky thinking’ tourism architects, Cumulus Studio and regionally based community engagement experts Twin Prism.
To inform the identification of priority projects that underpin the plan, Urban Enterprise will undertake extensive local stakeholder and community consultation.
The following community sessions have been planned:
Monday 28 October, 1pm – 3pm
Bonnie Doon Community Centre
Monday 28 October, 7pm – 9pm
Eildon PS Multipurpose Centre, Eildon Primary School
