After the success of the Mayor’s first Café Conversation held prior to Christmas, more are planned for the new year, the first of which is scheduled for Thursday 16 January at The Mansfield Produce Store commencing at 10.30 am.
‘Café Conversations with your Mayor’ provides an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to drop in and share a coffee with their Mayor in an informal setting to discuss matters of concern or even just to hear about what is happening at Council.
“As Councillors, we understand that people may have issues or concerns that they would like to discuss but are not sure about the best way to do this. The idea of these sessions is to encourage everyone to just drop in and have a chat. You never know where these conversations will lead,” said Mayor, Cr. Attley.
“Topical issues vary depending on what is happening at the time. Currently, we have the fire emergency and this follows on from the ongoing discussions which are underway prior to the development of the 2020-2021 Budget” she continued.
It is planned to hold the Café Conversations on the first and third Thursday each month and will be held at a different location each time (including in our smaller towns) to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend. Details of the planned sessions will be promoted via the ‘Dates to Remember’ at the top of the Mansfield Matters section of the Mansfield Courier and on the events section of Council’s website and facebook page - www.mansfield.vic.gov.au/events, Facebook – mansfieldshirecouncil
