Tis the Season to Buy Local at the Christmas market, to be held on 4 December, where you can join the festive spirit of twilight shopping to support Mansfield businesses after a tough year.

Mansfield Shire CEO, Kaylene Conrick said the market is a collaborative effort of Mansfield District Business Association, Buy From Mansfield, Issimo Markets, Mansfield Producers Inc and Council.

“It’s one of those initiatives that gives residents and visitors an opportunity to make a start on their Christmas shopping and at the same time support local businesses who have all had a challenging year. We encourage everyone to support it. Of course, all the relevant COVID-19 restrictions such as wearing of masks, hygiene and social distancing will be adhered to, to provide a safe, outdoor market,” Ms Conrick said.

The market is part of Mansfield’s Buy Local campaign. Via Facebook, Council and Buy From Mansfield will promote the market and the benefits of shopping locally this Christmas.

President of Mansfield and Districts Business Association (MDBA), John Lazarov said the Christmas market is an opportunity for the community to ensure Mansfield families involved in businesses continue to be supported.

“After such a tumultuous year for our business community MDBA is keen to support opportunities and activities which bring the community together. The Shop Local for Christmas campaign will provide a much needed boost for everyone involved and we look forward to seeing locals out and about spending locally for Christmas and supporting Mansfield businesses,” Mr Lazarov said.

Council is calling for local traders to take part by decorating their shop windows and staying open between 5pm and 8pm on Friday, 4 December.

Businesses not located on High Street are invited to have a free market stall on the medium strip thanks to local tech innovators Nick and Jay Cooper, founders of Issimo Markets and Buy From Mansfield. Help is also available for local businesses interested in creating an online, Buy From store.
