Businesses Asked To Complete Survey for Recovery Committee
Friday, 10 July, 2020 - 10:00
Businesses in the Mansfield Shire are being asked to complete a 10 minute online survey that will inform the Recovery Plan to be developed by Council’s newly formed Business and Community Recovery Advisory Committee.
Mansfield Mayor, Cr Marg Attley OAM said what business people tell the Committee through the survey will help Council support businesses during the long-term recovery.
“The Committee held its first meeting last week and the survey is part of establishing data for the Committee to work with. It’s important that this group, made up of people from our businesses and community, can be clear what would be most helpful. We all know the impacts started six months ago with bushfires and that the effects have been widespread. Now we need to plan for recovery while not knowing how long the pandemic will continue,” Cr Attley said.
“The more businesses we hear from, the more comprehensive the plan can be. We know the experience has been different for every business and gathering this information is an important starting point,” she said.
Council received two lots of Bushfire Recovery Victoria funding totalling $860,000 and $200,000 from Regional Development Victoria for local community recovery.
Mansfield business people can complete the survey by visiting the Have Your Say section of Council’s website. The survey will be open until Friday 24th July and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The role of the Recovery Advisory Committee is to assist Council in identifying the true needs, challenges and experiences of local businesses and the community, so that real benefit is delivered from the funding that has been received.
