Get your Fancy Pants on your vehicle, animal, community or school entry in this year’s Martins Garage Grand Parade as part of the High Country Festival. The theme, Fancy Pants is fun and the prize for the best overall entry has increased to $1500.

Dion Theodossi, Martins Garage Dealer Principal said he was excited to continue his long-standing association with the festival.

“Martins Garage has been part of the Mansfield High Country Festival for over 30 years and we get so much enjoyment from seeing the community engage with the festival, especially the grand parade,” Mr Theodossi said.

“The theme for this year’s parade is Fancy Pants!  By increasing the prize money, we hope to entice greater participation and see more creative and enthusiastic parade entries.  Get your Fancy Pants on!” he said.

The Grand Parade is a fun event that brings together the Mansfield Shire community.

Mansfield Shire Council creates and supports the cooperative environment for community and business to be involved in the Festival. Council also contributes and co-ordinates opening night festivities of the Sideshow Carnival, Rock Out, Torchlight Parade and Fireworks followed by the Grand Parade the following morning.

Mayor, Cr Harry Westendorp congratulated everyone involved in putting on the festival and the community for always joining in with great creativity in the parade and celebrating life in Mansfield.

“The parade will again be co-ordinated by Mansfield Rotary Club.  It’s a big job to get all the parade entries in a successful formation, and we congratulate the Rotary Club for this as well as their continued support of this fantastic event,” Cr Westendorp said.

“We also thank Murphy Fresh, Alpine Civil and Mansfield Vet Clinic for supporting prizes in the Grand Parade,” he said.
