Audit and Risk Advisory Committee call for nominations

Council is seeking nominations for independent members on the Audit and Risk Advisory Committee.  

The term of appointment is a three (3) year period expiring in August 2022, with such appointee being eligible for re-appointment for a further term or terms of three (3) years.

The key objective of the Committee is to provide advice, as part of Council’s governance obligations to its community, to the Council and Chief Executive Officer ensuring:

• Effective recognition, identification and management of risk

• Improved credibility and objectivity of internal and external financial reports

• Compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and use of best practice guides

• The effectiveness of an annual audit program.

A suitably qualified and experienced individual is sought from relevant industry backgrounds.  Expressions of interest must be lodged by close of business 1 July 2019 using the nomination form available from the municipal office or Council’s website.  The position will attract an allowance.
