Take your rubbish with you when you leave.

December 28, 2017

Since July 2016, Council adopted an initiative to remove all bins and skips from high visitation areas within our Shire in an effort to reduce the amount of illegal dumping of waste.

We've seen a good amount of success with the 'Carry In, Carry Out' philosophy, and we've found that most people who visit our region are very respectful when it comes to taking their waste/rubbish home with them.

We continue to encourage not just our visitors but our locals too, to be thoughtful with their rubbish and make sure they carry it out when they leave the area they're visiting.

Our friends at Goulburn Murray Water, who managed the many of the lake and river areas in our Shire, make regular patrols along foreshores and often stop to educate visitors about the 'Carry In, Carry Out' approach.  GMW officers carry plenty of spare rubbish bags with them and are only too happy to hand them out to those who might need them.

We'd love for you to help us ensure that our beautiful Shire remains litter free.  Please take your rubbish with you when you leave.
