Amendment C21 to the Mansfield Planning Scheme and Implementation of the Mansfield Shire Gaming Policy Framework 2010

At its June 2010 meeting Council adopted the Mansfield Shire Gaming Policy Framework 2010, prepared by CPG Australian Pty Ltd and resolved to prepare an amendment to the Mansfield Planning Scheme as a means of implementing the Policy Framework’s recommendations.

The Minister for Planning has granted authorisation to exhibit Amendment C21 to the Mansfield Planning Scheme, which affects all land within the Mansfield Shire and proposes to:

  • Amend the Municipal Strategic Statement by including a new clause 21.03-18 relating to entertainment, recreation and community facilities as a means of providing a reference to gaming machines;
  • Introduce Clause 22.09 Gaming to provide location and venue criteria, application requirements and decision guidelines for planning permit applications for electronic gaming machines and gaming venues via a Local Planning Policy;
  • Include the Mansfield Shire Gaming Policy Framework 2010 as a reference document to Clause 22.09; and
  • List the Mansfield Shopping Strip in the Schedule to Clause 52.28-4 as a strip shopping centre where gaming machines are prohibited.
Amendment documents and the Mansfield Shire Gaming Policy Framework 2010 are listed on the Applications on Public Notice page and can also be viewed on the Department of Planning and Community Development's website at www.dpcd.vic.gov.au/planning by clicking on Amendments Online, which is listed under Online Services on the right hand side.
