| Mansfield Shire Directional, Tourism and Advertising Signs / Signage Draft Policy | | The draft Signs / Signage Policy identifies some issues and background information, controls and the ability to be incorporated into a Planning Scheme Amendment. The draft Policy was endorsed by Council for public consultation at its meeting of 16 September 2008.
The draft Signs / Signage Policy has incorporated previous studies commissioned by Council and preliminary consultation with relevant stakeholders including VicRoads. The draft Policy, once adopted by Council, can be amended as a Local Planning Policy to advise Council regarding future signage issues and promote the Council’s position regarding advertising signage in the area.
The proposed policy will include a significant community engagement component including a range of relevant tourism and retail trading committees alongside Placemakers (Main Street Vision) Committee.
Individual submissions will be invited from members of the public. A 28 day public submission period is advised.
A workshop/forum type meeting is suggested at the end of the public submission period to generate further research and feedback as to the interests of the public regarding signage.
A copy of the draft Signs / Signage Policy is available for public inspection. PLEASE NOTE that the draft Policy is a large file size - should you require a hard copy of the draft Policy, please contact Council on 5775 8555. Comments on the draft Policy are invited via submissions to the Council, and should be forwarded to:
Mr Geoff Cook Planning Manager Mansfield Shire Council Private Bag 1000 Mansfield Vic 3724
The submission period closes Wednesday, 5 November 2008 at 5.00pm.
